A number of Ambassador Schools have asked about how students might find out about careers and traineeships at the European Parliament, the European Commission, and other EU institutions.
Here are the key links you will need:
- The “Work with us” page of the European Parliament, with information about careers, internships and study visits: https://www.europarl.europa.eu/at-your-service/en/work-with-us
- The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO in EU jargon) is the body overseeing the selection of staff for all EU institutions, so you will find more information here: https://epso.europa.eu/en/eu-careers/why-an-eu-career
- Traineeships/Internships are organised by each institution, but you can find all opportunities on the EPSO page here: https://epso.europa.eu/en/job-opportunities/traineeships
- There are more ways to search for European internships on Eurodesk: https://programmes.eurodesk.eu/internships
Some of these roles are only open to EU citizens, so if you only have UK citizenship, they may not be open to you, check the requirements for each role. Being able to speak a European language in addition to English is very useful, if not essential, in these roles.
