Loreto High Visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg

International Women’s Day
For International Women’s Day we organised a celebration of equality in school. We did a EU info notice board on it. We had 13 speakers in school who spoke in classes and there was an informal lunch where we aksed questions. We also organised a cake sale for and raised money for our food bank.

Promote Democratic engagement
We took 20 pupils to Parliament. The trip was over-subscribed with over 100 pupils who expressed interest. This was part of our Parliament Week/month celebrations in which all pupils receive age appropriate lessons on different aspects of democracy and government. European Food InfoPoint
We have our main info point near the library, but we wanted to add another one so more people would notice it. We added a display in the canteen with an array of European foods. We all researched a country each and selected a dish and some information. It is where the students queue up

Lux Film Event & Christmas film screening
We hosted two awesome film screenings! In December, 15 Year 7 students enjoyed the French version of “Ratatouille.” Later, 10 Junior Ambassadors attended the Lux Film Screening of “20,000 Species of Bees.” Both events were a hit, and everyone had a fantastic time.
