Weekly Voting Board
We’ve set up a weekly election for our students at Mercy! Our EPAS Junior Ambassadors researched elections and made a cool display in our Politics classroom. We started with fun topics like “cats vs. dogs” and “Christmas trees in December,” but now we’re tackling current European issues. Our Junior Ambassadors plan, count, and display everything!
Education and Debate about the Northern Ireland Protocol
Mercy College’s Government and Politics class dove into Brexit and the Northern Ireland Protocol, sparking a lively debate: “This house believes Northern Ireland should have ‘special status’ in the EU.” Students split into teams, crafting two-minute opening statements. Being in Belfast, these debates highlight the importance of engaging with democratic processes.
