Cultural Day
Notting Hill and Ealing High School’s annual cultural day is a fantastic celebration of the diverse cultures among students and staff. The EPAS club had a vibrant stall showcasing European Union cultures, featuring a sheet with “hello” in 24 EU languages. We handed out pens, pencils, and stickers, engaging students with enthusiasm.
Holocaust memorial week newsletter
One of our Junior Ambassadors wrote an article on Holocaust Memorial Day, focusing on the EU’s response to the Holocaust and other genocides. The newsletter emphasizes the EU’s founding ideals and the shared responsibility of its countries to uphold these values, helping prevent future atrocities. Check out our InfoPoint newsletter!
Lesson on the EU for Ukrainian students
Today, a Senior Ambassador from Notting Hill and Ealing High School led a fun lesson on the EU for visiting Ukrainian students. They explored the EU’s formation, its impact on lives, and engaged in democracy activities. A quiz wrapped up the session. Junior Ambassadors missed out due to class schedules.
European Parliament educational session at NHEHS
We were super excited to have Asher from Europe House visit our school for a workshop on European institutions and democracy. Students got to simulate voting in the European Parliament, experiencing the legislative process firsthand. The session ended with a lively chat about the European Parliament’s role, sparking great insights and discussions!
NHEHS in Strasbourg for Euroscola
During October half-term, NHEHS students visited Strasbourg for the Euroscola programme at the European Parliament. As the UK’s sole representative, we shared our views on political issues with European peers. The day was filled with debates, Q&As, and workshops, making it an enriching and unforgettable experience.
European Elections Library stand and treasure hunt
Junior Ambassadors from the European Parliament got inspired and organized a treasure hunt to celebrate the European Elections. We teamed up with the Library, showcasing books on European history and democracy, and created an election-themed treasure hunt. Students searched for posters, solved secret messages, and competed for fun prizes!
Europe Day Celebrations
On Thursday, May 9th, we celebrated Europe Day with enthusiasm! Our NHEHS EPAS club organized fun activities, including a ‘wear European flag colors’ day. Students were eager to learn about Europe’s impact on our lives. Year 12 Ambassadors supported Umunandi with donations. We also enjoyed quizzes and a European-themed escape room!
Infopoint
Students from Notting Hill and Ealing High School’s EPAS club successfully secured a noticeboard after negotiating with the SLT and departments. They filled it with EU info, placing it in a busy school corridor. It’s getting lots of attention, showcasing their hard work and dedication. Check it out!
Cultural Fair
Fantastic learning for democratic engagement! It’s awesome for students to chat with politicians, discover their motivations, and ask about issues that matter to them. The Ambassador Schools club set up a stall to share EU info and engage with students. Some club members even shared their culture at their own table.
Europe House visit
On December 4th, Notting Hill and Ealing High School’s EU Ambassador Club visited Europe House in Westminster. They explored EU history, structures, and values, including Brexit’s impact. Engaging activities made learning fun and interactive. Students represented political groups, tackled diverse viewpoints, and presented proposals on key issues. Book your visit now!
