All Tutor Groups in Clyst Vale learned about Europe Day and its origins, and how this annually marked event signifies peace and unity in Europe – and why this is significant for us as a Rights Respecting School.
Linked to this, students also found out plenty of interesting information regarding the annual Eurovision Song Contest, a fun-packed competition bringing European countries (and Australia!) together to celebrate music and song. They discovered where it is
taking place this year and how the host country is decided.
Students were encouraged to take a look at clips of all of the 2025 song entries and decide for themselves which their favourite act is – and who they think will win. They learned about the voting process and how the acts in the Saturday final are chosen.
The Eurovision assembly culminated in a quiz that Tutor groups could participate in, to see how much they had learned – and already knew.
Hopefully many of our students will now be watching the show on Saturday and cheering along the act they like the best!

Looks like a fun and engaging way to celebrate Europe Day and share European culture.
