Did you know that if you are an EU citizen living in the UK you may be able to vote in this year’s European Parliament elections? The vote is 6-9 June 2024, and many registration dates are approaching fast!
Each country has its own criteria for who is allowed to vote – and how – so it’s very interesting to compare the different approaches. Some Member States allow 16 year olds to vote, in some everyone over 18 must cast a vote, and whether you can vote online, by post or at an embassy varies a lot.
The European Parliament Liaison Office team in the UK have been compiling this information for EU citizens living in the UK. You can download their summary here, and check elections.europa.eu and your national government’s website for full details.
