This year here at Prestwick Academy we celebrated European Day of Languages with help of our fabulous International Club with Captains and Junior Ambassadors who helped a lot on the day.
Our wonderful bilingual pupils led learning and taught their classmates and even teachers!!! – languages such as German, Zulu, Spanish, French and Russian and their rich culture were enjoyed by all! We speak so many languages in our school community and we celebrated as many as we could!
We also had a chance to take some snaps with our international dress up box and had face painting on the day.

Teachers were asked to display an ‘I HEART’ sign with their favourite language and reason behind it. The corridors were decorated by pupils advertising European Day of Languages with the focus this year being “Languages open hearts and minds”, young people were looking into how languages are important not only for communication but also for brain health and lifelong learning.
Junior Ambassadors delivered a presentation and various quizzes to teach others about various EU countries, flags, landmarks and culture.

Gracias a todos/merci beaucoup 😊

Great to see so much going into this. Looks like a really fun day and great way to encourage people into language learning and sharing European cultures.
