Visit to the UK Parliament
On Tuesday, October 22nd, thirty Junior Ambassadors from Carmel College, St Helens, had an exciting trip to London. We toured the House of Lords, watched the Speaker’s procession into the House of Commons, and listened to Foreign Office questions. We also enjoyed a Q&A session with local MP Marie Rimmer.

EPAS Educational session
The new EPAS Junior Ambassador took full advantage of the educational session on what the EU is, why it exists, how it makes decisions, and a debate on its priorities. Wellington School at the European Parliament
On October 11th, 13 Wellington School students joined the Euroscola event at the European Parliament in Strasbourg with peers from 29 countries. They interviewed EU leaders, learned about MEPs, and debated democracy and rights. Before heading home, they enjoyed some sightseeing in Strasbourg’s historic center.

Analyzing European Elections
Class activity related to the results and procedures of European elections. EPAS Team Comment Very useful to examine both from a political perspective, but also as an exercise in mathematical communication. Good to see that Spain has reached parity in terms of the number of male and female MEPs.

World Food Day: ‘Bon Appetit’ – World Foods Made in Europe
The college’s EPAS ambassadors created an info point and presentation for World Food Day, celebrating Europe’s cultural diversity through favorite foods, some traditionally European. This display was set up in the college restaurant, shown on campus info screens, and emailed to all 2,300 students. Check out the full details in the link!

Black History Month MFL Activities
During Black History Month, our students dive into learning about influential Black figures from French and Spanish-speaking countries. They practice language skills, meet inspiring personalities, and expand their cultural knowledge. These activities are part of our broader school efforts to explore often-overlooked European communities and celebrate the diverse cultures of modern Europe.

Celebration of 2023-24 Ambassadors
On October 3rd, 2024, students received certificates for participating in last year’s European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS) program. This initiative boosts students’ EU knowledge. Our Junior Ambassadors hosted events like a Model UN, speeches, and debates, and three even visited the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Debating activities
In the past two weeks, our new Junior Ambassadors at Carmel College have dived into the European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) program. We kicked off with two exciting debates. First, we tackled the environment and building on ‘green belt’ land. Then, we debated a four-day school week. Everyone did amazing!

Peace through Languages
This year at Prestwick Academy, we rocked European Day of Languages! Our International Club, Captains, and Junior Ambassadors made it unforgettable. We shared inspiring language quotes, did face painting, and had language lessons. The corridors were all about peace. We even had a Kahoot quiz and tasty croissants for staff!

European Day of Languages
During European Day of Languages week, Manchester Hospital School got everyone from EYFS to post-16 excited about languages! They joined assemblies, tackled the British Council Great Languages Challenge, and learned to count to five in various languages. Each subject linked to a language, inspiring students to learn more. European Day of Languages Celebration
To mark the European Day of Languages, our students designed a poster for the “Languages for Peace” international competition organised by the European Centre for Modern Languages. European Languages Day
A class from the DSL that included members and non-members of the European Ambassadors visited the European Language Day event. Already being a multilingual group, we could engage in discussions about European intercultural development and interesting linguistic reflections. The participation in a multilingual poetry workshop greatly contributed to our understanding of modern European language relations.
