Format
This training will take place through three short Teams webinars on three consecutive days at the start of November.
Audience
Senior Ambassadors (school staff) are encouraged to attend all three, Junior Ambassadors (students) are also welcome to attend any they are interested in.
Sessions
- Tuesday, 5th November, 16.15-17.00:
- Introduction to the Ambassador Schools programme in the UK and other opportunities from the European Parliament Liaison Office (Anna Huth)
- The Ambassador School programme is your way in to working with the European Parliament Liaison Office in the UK (EPLO UK). EPLO UK Youth and Outreach Officer, Anna Huth, will explain what the EPLO is, what its role is in the UK, and the trips, events, resources and opportunities that it can offer to UK schools and colleges.
- Wednesday, 6th November: 16.15-17.00:
- What has changed (or not) as a result of the June 2024 European Parliament Elections? And with a new government in the UK, what might this mean for EU-UK relations? (Typhaine Morillon & Sanna Kangasharju)
- EPLO UK experts, Typhaine and Sanna, will explain the workings of the European Parliament, how its make up has changed this year, and how the ‘resetting of relations’ suggested by the new UK government is being received by the EU.
- Thursday, 7th November: 16.15-17.00:
- Ambassador Schools practicalities: activities, evidence and accreditation (Asher Jacobsberg)
- Asher will guide you through the process of gaining accreditation for your school or college with examples of the types of activities you might run, a walk through of how you upload evidence, and a Q&A on all aspects of the programme.
