Cultural Exchange School trip with Spanish students
Our GCSE Spanish students had an amazing exchange trip to Benalmádena, attending a local school and staying with host families. Day one at Maravillas Language School was a hit, with students impressing teachers. We explored the town, enjoyed the beach, and ended with hot chocolate. Stay tuned for more adventures!

School Trip to Euroscola in Strasbourg with Belfast Boys Model School
Mercy College Belfast and Belfast Boys Model School had an amazing time at the Euroscola event in Strasbourg. They learned how the European Parliament works, joined a lively debate on climate change, and even sat in the Hemicycle! What a fantastic cross-community experience for these students. Model United Nations and Visit to European Central Bank
During February break, 15 of our Model UN members, including five EPAS Junior Ambassadors, rocked an international conference in Bad Homburg, Germany. Led by Secretaries General Lara and Erica, our Wellington crew chaired five committees. They honed skills, explored local sights, and enjoyed fun evenings. What an amazing experience!

Valentine’s Day languages and craft activity
In February, Wellington School Junior Ambassadors hosted a fun languages and craft event for our Primary 7 kids. They guided them in writing Valentine’s Day messages in French, German, and their native languages to send to pen pals in France and Germany. It was a fantastic cultural exchange experience!

LUX Award screenings in London
The European Parliament Liaison Office in the UK is hosting a special film screening for Ambassador Schools, featuring a nominee for the 2025 LUX Audience Award. Check out the films available and let us know if you’re interested in attending. The event is near South Kensington tube station, London. Travel costs aren’t covered.

Valentine’s day Cards
Organised by motivated students, who also designed an advertisement poster, a box was put up on our InfoPoint where prepared Valentine’s Day card templates could be filled out, also stating the addressee’s name and class, in the week before Valentine’s day. European excitement at Leo Kelly
Yesterday, I visited Manchester to meet the Junior and Senior Ambassadors at Leo Kelly School. They’ve brilliantly integrated the Ambassador Schools program into their ‘Preparation for Adulthood’ curriculum. Students are diving into European languages, history, and culture, even cooking and map-making!

USP College at Brussels and Ypres
From November 21st to 23rd, 2024, USP College’s junior and senior ambassadors joined schools from the UK, Netherlands, Ireland, and Belgium for an exciting trip to Brussels, Ypres, and Flanders Fields. Cultural Day
Notting Hill and Ealing High School’s annual cultural day is a fantastic celebration of the diverse cultures among students and staff. The EPAS club had a vibrant stall showcasing European Union cultures, featuring a sheet with “hello” in 24 EU languages. We handed out pens, pencils, and stickers, engaging students with enthusiasm.

Carmel College at Euroscola
On January 27th, 20 Carmel students headed to Strasbourg for the Euroscola event at the European Parliament. We got to play the role of MEPs, diving into the legislative process. The trip also included a debate on zero pollution, a visit to Strasbourg Cathedral, and a quick Paris adventure!

Holocaust Memorial Day assembly and art gallery
Heidi and Violet, Junior Ambassadors from Lytham St Anne’s School, created a presentation on Holocaust survivor stories, linking them to human rights issues. Our Junior Ambassadors, guided by our Senior Ambassadors, are crafting and sharing a page in our monthly newsletter. The ‘European Corner’ section highlights various EU countries. The students collaborate, research, and proudly showcase their work each month. This project has been an amazing learning experience for them, and it continues to inspire!

Clyst Vale visit to Strasbourg European Parliament (Sakharov Prize)
Our trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg was a blast! Sitting in the hemicycle and meeting international students was a highlight. Hearing the Venezuelan Sakharov Prize winners’ stories was touching. We’re grateful to the organizers and hope for more chances like this, even post-Brexit. Can’t wait for future collaborations!
