Wellington School at the European Parliament

On 11th October, 13 pupils from Wellington School participated in the Euroscola event at the European Parliament in Strasbourg together with young people from 29 other countries.

In the morning, they interviewed the First Vice-President of the EU Parliament Frau Sabine Verheyen and then took part in an interview with Antonio Caiola, the Head of Unit of the Legal Service of the European Parliament, about protecting democracy and fundamental rights in Europe.

After lunch, they learned about the work of MEPs before taking part in a debate about democracy and rights. Before returning home, the group had a little time for sight-seeing in the historical centre of Strasbourg.
