Carmel Students Take Part in National Gallery Articulation Prize

Six Carmel College junior ambassadors impressed audiences as they took part in the internal heat of the Articulation Prize, a prestigious national public speaking competition organised by the National Gallery.

The Articulation Prize challenges young people aged 16–19 to deliver a 10-minute presentation on an artwork, artefact, or architectural piece, encouraging deep engagement with visual culture and the development of confident communication skills. Speaking to a packed theatre, our students demonstrated exceptional insight, confidence, and clarity, delivering thoughtful and passionate presentations that impressed judges and peers alike.

This is a really interesting way to develop students’ presentation skills and cultural understanding. Learning how to stand up and talk, persuasively and engagingly, to a group is a key democratic skill.
