Two of our GCSE Politics students recently took part in valuable work experience with John Finucane, MP for North Belfast. This opportunity allowed them to gain a first-hand insight into the role of an MP, including representing constituents and engaging with issues within the local community.

Throughout their placement, the students developed their understanding of how politics works in practice, while also building confidence, communication skills and a deeper appreciation of democratic processes. This experience enriched their classroom learning and inspired them to engage more actively with political issues within their community.

What an amazing experience for those students. I imagine it greatly increased their respect for the work done by our democratically elected representatives.
