Visit from Luke Pollard M.P.

Luke Pollard, Hele’s School’s (Labour) M.P., came into school to talk to Junior Ambassadors and students from all years about democracy.

His talk and the discussion that followed covered a wide range of issues on democracy, including:

  • Who votes?
  • Demographics
  • I.D. cards
  • Proportional Representation
  • Automatic Voter Registration

He also discussed his politics and opinions on current issues:

  • What Labour stands for
  • The cost of living crisis
  • The Israel/Gaza conflict

Everyone enjoyed Luke’s visit and the questions asked showed a real interest in issues facing our society.
