As a school, we looked at idiomatic phrases from other European countries and how they linked to phrases that we use in the English language. Pupils tried saying some phrases in different languages such as Russian, Spanish and French. In addition, pupils were given fact cards to read about Europe which informed deeper discussion. Lastly, we used a wordwall spin the wheel to challenge each other on what facts we could give about different countries in the EU.
