Students took part in a cross-national EPAS event, collaborating with peers from schools across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. As part of the programme, pupils worked in teams to create and deliver a PowerPoint presentation about their school to an audience of over 60 students, EPAS representatives, and local politicians, developing confidence in public speaking and communication.

Throughout the event, pupils participated in walking debates, exploring key ideas around democracy and decision-making, which strengthened their understanding of democratic processes and encouraged them to express informed opinions. The experience also provided valuable opportunities for cultural exchange, allowing students to share perspectives, learn about different communities, and build mutual respect.
By working collaboratively, students enhanced their teamwork and leadership skills, taking initiative, delegating roles, and supporting one another to achieve a shared goal. Overall, the event fostered youth leadership, strengthened communication, and deepened students’ engagement with democratic values in a real-world context.
