European Day of Languages

On 25th September, 14 Sixth Form linguists enjoyed a cultural visit to London to celebrate European Day of Languages. The event, organised by the European Parliament, brought together a wide range of embassies, cultural institutes and community schools, offering resources, language tasters, and cultural insights – plus a scavenger hunt to encourage students to explore them all!

This was a lively and engaging celebration of language learning, with students interacting with representatives from 24 countries in 24 different languages, in addition to learning more about the work of the European Parliament. Following this event, our Ambassadors ran a hugely successful lunchtime event to celebrate European Day of Languages with the wider school community.

In addition, they made a presentation to all Sixth Form linguists at the Language Hub on Monday 29th September, in order to promote their activities and the partnership with European Parliament Ambassador Schools.

EPAS Team Comment

This is exactly what we want to see from Ambassador Schools: your students having an experience and then acting as Ambassadors spreading their learning and enthusiasm amongst their peers. Well done!
