The EPAS club and the Art department in our school collaborated together to deliver a lesson on the history of Art depicting aspects of democracy. This will be the first step to students making and curating a virtual art exhibition.
We first looked at what democracy is, teasing out the students’ ideas of what it is and what it should be. Then we moved on to what curation is. We looked at various art pieces and approached them with an art critic’s eye, looking for the meaning and message of the art work. Then we asked the students to think about how they would curate a collection – chronologically, thematically, by artist etc, how much, if anything, they would charge people to see the collection and justify it.

A fantastic way to spread the themes and values of the Ambassador Schools programme across the curriculum. Thank you for sharing the resources.
