European Day of Languages is always a highly-anticipated event at Wellington School. This year, our language captains led two assemblies, one in the junior school and one for seniors. They contacted former pupils who are using or studying languages as part of their university courses and produced a short video with updates from students in France, Switzerland and Spain and from those closer to home who are studying languages along with international business and the performing arts.

On 26 September, there were language-themed quizzes and competitions. The captains organised an international bake sale, too. As always, the catering staff were on board and the menu at lunchtime had a European flavour.

Looks great! We love the fact you’ve involved former students and got students leading on so much of this. You are not only sharing culture, but also giving students the experience of leadership, which is essential in a democratic society.
