European Parliament Ambassador Schools Event – Houses of Parliament & Europe House

This activity was planned and organised as part of the European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) programme for at the Greek School of Wales.

The school was invited to attend a special event hosted by Marsha de Cordova MP at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, followed by a programme at Europe House in London. The event provided pupils with a valuable opportunity to experience UK democratic institutions and engage directly with the parliamentary environment.

Pupils participated as Junior and Senior Ambassadors, representing their school and taking part in discussions and activities linked to European values, democracy, and citizenship. The visit allowed them to see first-hand how political decision-making processes work and how democratic institutions operate in practice.

Following the parliamentary session, pupils continued the programme at Europe House, where they took part in further learning activities and discussions in an international context.

The activity was highly beneficial for pupils, as it strengthened their understanding of democracy, active citizenship, and the role of the UK within Europe. It also helped develop their confidence, communication skills, and sense of responsibility as young ambassadors.

Overall, the visit provided an invaluable real-life learning experience that reinforced classroom learning about Europe, democracy, and civic engagement.
