Every year on 9 May, the European Union celebrates Europe Day in commemoration of the so-called Schuman Declaration of 1950. Our school’s European Ambassadors also organised an event again this year, on 11 May.

The Europe Club was up and about early on this special day, busily blowing up balloons in the colours of the European flag. From 8 am, thanks to the helpful Technology Club, arriving pupils were welcomed with the best Eurovision songs of all time, including the European anthem, and the first balloons were handed out. But that wasn’t all, because many European Ambassadors had baked star-shaped biscuits, which were then given out for free during break time to anyone who wanted them. The stand was very busy, and anyone who unfortunately didn’t get there quickly enough was consoled with a balloon. In the end, everyone was happy and able to start the next lessons feeling physically and/or mentally refreshed. A complete success, here’s to many more events like this!
