Clyst Vale visit to Strasbourg European Parliament (Sakharov Prize)
Our trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg was a blast! Sitting in the hemicycle and meeting international students was a highlight. Hearing the Venezuelan Sakharov Prize winners’ stories was touching. We’re grateful to the organizers and hope for more chances like this, even post-Brexit. Can’t wait for future collaborations!

Cultural Fortnight at Clyst Vale
Students at Clyst Vale Community College, a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting School, are embracing respect and diversity during Cultural Fortnight. They’re exploring the 9 protected characteristics from the 2010 Equality Act, linked to trailblazers and UNCRC articles. Activities include assemblies, themed lessons, and global cuisine. Launch session and debate: “What should the priorities be for the EU and UK’s future relationship?”
Clyst Vale Community College was thrilled to host Asher Jacobsberg from the European Parliament Liaison Office on December 13th. He launched the European Parliament Ambassador Schools project and led a lively debate on EU-UK priorities. Students from Years 11-13 engaged enthusiastically, learning about the European Parliament’s workings. Exciting times ahead!
