Holocaust survivor’s testimony for Prestwick Academy’s new generation
Maria Chamberlain was our speaker and her parents were both Holocaust survivors. Maria shared their/her testimony to our S3 students. Our S3 students have recently finished the Holocaust unit so this was an excellent opportunity for them to hear live testimony. This was arranged through generation2generation. First Minister’s Question Time at the Scottish Parliament
Our Senior Modern Studies and Politics pupils enjoyed watching First Minister’s Question Time at the Scottish Parliament. Pupils loved meeting our MSP Siobhan Brown and going into the chambers before Question Time began. They witnessed questions being asked surrounding the NHS, War in Iran and Austerity measures. Trip to European Parliament in Strasbourg
The Euroscola group headed to the European Parliament where they took part in debates with young people from across Europe. This helps to inform the EU on the views of young people around AI, Disinformation and possible solutions. Lauchlan McLean, one of our Junior Ambassadors, created an awesome post-training presentation. It’s proudly displayed in the Modern Language corridor and on big screens around the school. Great job!
Peace through Languages
This year at Prestwick Academy, we rocked European Day of Languages! Our International Club, Captains, and Junior Ambassadors made it unforgettable. We shared inspiring language quotes, did face painting, and had language lessons. The corridors were all about peace. We even had a Kahoot quiz and tasty croissants for staff!
